Considering getting a new pet?
I often hear of people saying they’re getting a puppy or a kitten for a loved one for the holidays. I don’t recommend it. First of all, if the person you give it to doesn’t want or can’t have an animal, then what are you going to do. Second, there are more than enough animals out there that need a home. We got both of the purebred Himalayan cats we have now for free from someone on a Freecycle list. We got the pair of purebred Himalayan cats we had before that for a minimal contribution to a shelter that we found on petfinder. It’s just something to think about. Animals don’t ask to be here, they pretty much just want to be loved.
