Today I reviewed the blog entitled On My Mind, located at SamuelNova.com.

Upon first glance I noticed the theme. The black and white, with some red is simple while striking. The header picture is nice, and looks remarkably similar to the author’s picture. Samuel should take a quick look in his sidebars as the blogrush widget and the textlink ads image are both cut off. The AuctionAds widget is also clipped, but to a lesser extent.

The About page is actually the first page I usually look for in a blog I’ve never read. Samuel offers quite a bit of personal background information on his About page, which I really liked. The page not only helped me to understand who Samuel is, but gave some insight into his background and hobbies. If you look on this page you will see how similar the header image is to Samuel’s picture. From here the reader is directed to the On My Mind page, to learn why and what Samuel will be blogging. No, I won’t tell you, go read it for yourself. Now I’m off to the index page to see what’s going on there.

Samuel writes in English pretty well for a man who was born and has lived in Denmark for most of his life. He puts thought into his posts. He has a friendly writing style, that reminds me of someone writing a letter to a friend. He’s even incorporates a bit of humor here and there. Samuel places some pictures and video into posts, which serve several good purposes including breaking up large areas of text, drawing the eyes to an area, and making some posts more enjoyable.

All in all I’d say Samuel’s done a very nice job. Good luck with your blog Samuel!
