A little less than thirty miles south of me, a mystery tree trimmer is decorating a tree on the southbound Garden State Parkway at mile marker 58.2. The unknown person added the first two ornaments right around Thanksgiving and has added at least one more each week since. The decorations are being hung at night. Records have been checked and no deaths occurred on or near the spot. No one has claimed responsibility for the decorations. The police don’t know who’s responsible or why they’re doing it, but it seems there is no law against it. They are concerned for the person’s safety, as the Parkway does have a lot of traffic, much of which is over 65mph. Now, if this is what someone wants to do with their time, it doesn’t bother me. But it does leave me with more questions, like how are they doing it? Those trees are pretty big. Maybe the person is standing on bar stools so they can reach. Hmmm.
