Folks with glasses do get passes.
I remember way back that marketing ploy from way back, “girls with glasses do get passes”. You see, most of my family wears glasses including myself. I have worn glasses or contact lenses since I was very young. I can’t see squat without them. I must have been about nine when I got my first pair of glasses. When I put them on I exclaimed with surprise, “look, they put stripes on the bowling pins!”. Obviously it was not the stripes that were new, it was my newly corrected vision.
I never realized as a child that eyeglasses could be so expensive. I truly didn’t realize that until I was an adult paying for my own expenses. Just last year my hubby found out his vision had worsened a bit more, and the optometrist recommended progressive lenses. We couldn’t afford them, because they cost $200-$300. So he got a pair of bifocals that we ended up paying almost $150 for, after insurance. And it wasn’t that he was looking at some big name brand of frame either. It was just that they were all so expensive.

At first when I saw that I thought there must be a catch, so I looked for one. I haven’t found it yet. They don’t overcharge for shipping, it’s only $4.95. They have a tremendously large selection of frames, so it isn’t that they’re only offering a couple of frames. They offer the sunglass tint that many people prefer for under $5. From what I have seen so far I can’t see any reason not to buy from them. I found a pair of titanium progressive frames on sale for $15.95 and the progressive lenses would be $29. With that price being so low I think I’d even upgrade to the photogray progressive lens for $59. For just under $75 hubby could have a new pair of progressive eyeglasses. Hubby is due for another eye exam now, so I think after the exam I’ll order him the glasses.
