I worry about the safety of my children all of the time. My older son says I’m overprotective and sometimes smotherly. My youngest has Down Syndrome so I always worry about him. He doesn’t have an extensive vocabulary so I often worry about what would happen to him if he got separated from us. I have decided that a viable solution for our situation might be to get him a medical id bracelet or something of that nature. Something that I could put contact info and some basic info on. Have any of you ever been in or know of someone that has been in a similar situation? I welcome constructive suggestions on this topic, please feel free to leave a comment if you’ve got one.

I actually purchased a St. Christopher pendant from a jewelry store and had my son’s name engraved on the back. Things Remembered will engrave anything on anything. That way, maybe it would make him feel special and protected as opposed to having a “medical” issue. My son does not have any medical issues, but he still wears that necklace even though he is away at college, because it makes him feel good. He calls it a good luck charm.
