Junk mail is a waste of money
I get junk mail almost every day, just like most people that receive mail. At least 4 days out of 6 I will receive unwanted mail, including credit card preapprovals, credit card applications and requests for life insurance quotes. For years every time I got junk mail I threw it out. Most of the time I didn’t even open it. But throwing them out doesn’t stop them from coming. About a month ago I started marking them “refused, return to sender”, but it’s too soon to see if that’s working. Why do companies send out so much mail that they must know simply gets thrown away? It must cost a fortune. If they didn’t send so much junk mail I bet they could lower costs, or at least not raise them for a while. It wouldn’t hurt any jobs to send less mail, because those big companies have mail machines doing most of the work anyway. So why do they keep sending them? Why not just throw their money into the garbage can?
