Why Didn’t The Jetsons Have A Cat
I wonder why the Jetsons had no cat. They had the dog Astro, who when he spoke you couldn’t understand what he said. Bsn atro phex might have been dog speak or the name of a drug, who knows. What surprises me the most is that they didn’t make Astro robotic, like Rosie the maid. That would have made lots of sense, and fit right in with the show.

The Jetson’s did in fact have a cat, or at least one appeared in their apartment in Season One, Episode 23 of the show entitled “Dude Planet” Jane, feeling poorly because of “Buttonitis” caused by having to push too many buttons to get all of their labor saving devices to work sees her doctor. Her dr. prescribes a get away vacation to a “dude planet” to get away from having to deal with pushing all those buttons. George takes on the housecleaning chores, trying to navigate the automatic no-hands vacuum cleaner. When George gets it working, a screech is heard from another room. George investigates, and finds the vacuum has swallowed up a cat. George addresses the cat as either Kitty Cat or Kitty Kat. Don’t remember ever seeing that they had a cat in any other episode of the series though, but it’s strange if they had a cat padding around in their apartment that George apparently knew by name if it wasn’t their cat. Info from tv (dot) com, episode aired today on Turner’s cable tv channel in the U.S. called Boomerang.
