I love cats. One of the great things about them is they’re ok if you leave them alone for a day or two. When we recently went away I put out a second litter box, an open style box, just to be sure they could go and there wouldn’t be any accidents. . When we got home I washed it and put it inside the shower to dry. When the husband went to use the shower he set the second box on top of our regular box, an enclosed unit. The cat jumped up and used the second, open unit, while it was still on top of the first unit. I wondered if there might be any use foa double decker litter box on the nmarket. I looked online and didn’t see any. Thoughts?

Is your cat interested in the television? One of ours will sit in front of it and swat at it at times. Soemtimes he does it when there’s a brightly colored character like in cartoon shows. He always does it when we’re playing certain brightly colored video games. You’ll be playing and all of a sudden a paw will appear in your line of sight swatting at the picture. it’s pretty funny. Interestingly enough, he’s never shown any interest in the computers monitor. Is your cat interested in television? What does he do?

I know lots of people have different theories on how and why human beings came to be. Creation and evolution and all that. Noone’s ever mentioned the possibility that humans evolved from cats as far as I’ve heard. Think about it though. Cats wash their paws, which in turn they then use to wash their face and body. Mothers lick their hands and then clean dirt on their child’s face. What do you think?

Many dogs seem perfectly at home in cars. Cats, however, are another story. I have never had a cat that was comfortable riding in a car. They always got stressed, nervous or upset. I wonder if they might be more comfortable in a camper, where there’s more room to relax and roam. They’d probably only need to be put in a carrier if you had to get emergency motor home repair, so they wouldn’t get out. Does your cat like traveling in a car?

Climbing towers may seem expensive to some but I think they’re well worth it. Climbing towers allow a cat to have fun and exercise while protecting other areas of your home. By climbing on the tower your cat may not climb your drapes or tall furniture. By scratching/sharpening his claws on a part of a tower your cat may leave the rest of your furniture alone – unshredded. Some of the larger towers even have an area where a cat can hide, which also makes a nice napping spot. You can hang other toys from a tower, allowing your cat to really enjoy playing with those toys. We spent $150 on a five level cat tower about twenty yers ago. My husband questioned the purchase, along with my sanity. Our cat loved that tower. He played in it daily for years. He always sharpened his claws on it, completely shredding one whole section but preserving all of our furniture. If you have a kitten or are planning on getting one then you need to consider getting a cat tower.

I’ve mentioned before that thinking about cats living life like we humans do sometimes amuses me. I found a picture online that really cracked me up. You’ve heard of the cat in the hat? Meet the cat in the hard hat! If there were cats with construction jobs, this is what a supervisor might look like. Cute and funny!

Recently we gained a new family member, a Siamese kitten that we named Juliet. We don’t know her exact age but when we got her her shots the vet’s best guess was she was about two months old at that time, which would make her about four months old now. She’s adorable. She’s very cuddly and very curious and loves to play. She does have one annoying habit, she sucks on all sorts of fabric. She’ll suck on the blanket, your shirt, your shoes, anything with material, kneading away at the same time. I was hoping she’d outgrow it but there’s been no sign of that yet. I think maybe she’d been weaned early and that’s why. My Mom had a cat that kneaded and sucked on blankets and never stopped. I’m hoping that’s not the case here. Have you ever had a kitten that did this?

Eighth grade is a very memorable year in a persons life. The end of their middle school life and the start of their high school careers. One part however about middle school that my son did not like would be the graduation. For this occasion they request that all students wear formal attire. Most kids did not like this rule but put up with it anyway. On the bright side they did not have to wear bow ties. A bit of a downer for me was that they didn’t wear caps and gowns. Cats look so cute in caps, I know the kids would have looked even better.

Every cat I’ve ever had has come running when I used the can opener. They all thought it was tuna or a can of cat food. Not Romeo. He couldn’t care less. He doesn’t come running when I open the can opener. He refuses to eat canned cat food. But guess what he loves, what gets his interest every time? Sliced american cheese from the deli. We found out accidentally one day. We were making burgers a couple of weeks ago using our small electric grill. We dropped a piece of cheese accidentally and he snagged it right up. Ever since then, every time we open the bag the deli puts the cheese in he comes running. He’ll meow at you as if to ask for some. Does your cat eat or want to eat cheese?

If you’re like me you take pictures of your pets. I have pictures of every cat I’ve had for almost twenty years. I often remember the ones that are no longer with me fondly and would like to look at their pictures. The thing is, pictures can take a lot of time to go through when you have as many as I do. I have thousands of digital pictures and thousands more on film. So I had an idea. I’d like to go through my pictures and set aside my favorite ones with my cats. Then I’d like to have a personalized calendar made, similiar to one of those promotional calenders you see companies give, and keep it for myself. Then I’d be able to see all of the cats easily, any time.
