Coupon tips

With the economy being terrible and our family suffering from the incredible shrinking income we’re trying to cut back and save money wherever possible. This includes using more coupons when grocery shopping whenever possible. We get the newspaper on Sundays and I won’t be waiting a week or two to go through the coupons any more. It’s a shame how many have been expired and gone to waste because I took so long to go through them. One tip for cutting coupons, turn off any ceiling fans before beginning or the coupons will blow right off of the table. I’ll also be looking for more printable coupons online. I am going to organize my coupons somehow, I think I’ll start with a big coupon wallet and see how that goes. It’s got to be an improvement over the big envelope that I’ve been using. I’ll also be trying to hang on to coupons to make the best use of them by pairing them with sales. So. Do you have any coupon tips to share?

$4 Purina pet food coupons from Purina Give A Bowl

I found out about another Purina program today. This program helps both you and an animal organization of your choice. Purina Give A Bowl offers coupons for their pet food products, tips and adoption stories. If you download a $4 coupon from the site Purina will donate $1 worth of Purina pet food coupons to the participating animal welfare organization of your choice. The great thing for the animals is that if I’ve read it correctly registered organizations may receive an unlimited amount of donations. The great thing for people like you and I is that we can save a lot of money by using that coupon, that’s almost a free bag. Times are tough right now and I personally will find this coupon very useful, far more so than the one I got in the mail for diet pills. Go get yours now!

Smart Source

Here’s another good source for online coupon codes, printable coupons and grocery circulars. It’s Smart Source. The site is free to use. Online deals can be browsed by category, store or tag. Printable coupons can be sorted by category. Grocery circulars can be viewed by store, sorted by product or category or searched for by name. You can build a printable shopping list while browsing. I saw some good deals that, after combining coupons with circular prices, might even have been close to wholesale pricing. That’s smart shopping!

Dealcatcher

One of the most popular sites for good deals is DealCatcher. The site is free to use and is constantly updated. It offers both online and printable coupons and store advertisements. There are also member forums that offer many things including deals, coupons, requests, tips, rebates, reviews and free items. Shoppers can browse coupons by store or category. They offer coupons for just about everything you can imagine, with the exception of diet products like Anoretix. I found some great deals on the site. One terrific deal that I found there today is the Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse at $37.19 with free shipping. I wanted to buy that mouse myself but it usually sells for $90-$100!

Cellfire

Cellfire is a service that offers digital coupons that you can access on your cell phone. Cellfire is free to join and offers coupons for groceries, restaurants, entertainment and other things. Cellfire is compatible with almost any internet capable cell phone. Once at the store just give the cashier the code from your phone and you’ll receive the discounts loaded in. Cellfire is adding grocery stores as well, you can sign up to be notified when stores in your area join. It looks like it coiuld be a helpful service when it gets a bit larger.

Do you have lots of grocery store club cards?

I have a bunch of membership tags on my key chain. Some are for stores here, one’s for a store in Florida when we go to Walt Disney World and yet another is for a store in upstate New York when we go camping every summer. It’d be great not to worry about carrying all of them all of the tine. I’d love to see all grocery stores use one common club card. They could still run their sales and people would still be able to take advantage of specials, but it would make it easier on the customer. But since that day isn’t likely to happen soon, a site like Just One Club Card is a useful one for people like me.

Just One Club Card allows people to enter card membership numbers for up to eight stores. It’s free to use. After you enter your numbers you print a new card that contains the numbers for all of the ones you entered, allowing you to carry only one card to all stores. He’s even made it possible to add in pet store cards, and other stores. The guy that thought of this had a great idea!

Save money on groceries by using Shortcuts

I found out another way to save money at the grocery store, a site called Shortcuts.com. Shortcuts is a site where registered users can find coupons that will automatically be attached to their grocery store savings cards. The service is free to use. To register you need to provide your name, date of birth, zip code and provide your savings card numbers. Then you look around the Shortcuts site and add the coupons you want to your account. The coupons are searchable by category. When you go to the grocery store the coupons will be deducted from your total, just like a regular coupon or a discount because you have a savings card. Right now the site only works with some grocery stores, unfortunately none of which are in my area. If you’ve tried Shortcuts I’d like to hear how you liked it.

CouponCabin

The CouponCabin website offers what a person might expect when they hear the name - coupons. Users can search for coupons by name and by category, results will show all of the coupons associated with the site searched for. There are at least twenty categories that coupons fall under. There’s even a category just for Vegas. (No Orlando vacations though.) They have special categories containing printable coupons, mall stores, free shipping offers and clearance sales. The site is free to use and does not require registration. The folks at CouponCabin monitor more than 950 stores for new coupons and offer a newsletter containing the hottest coupons.
