I have not really noticed this with my cats, however my parents have a Female Boxer at the moment and a Female Collie dog prior to that and now that you mention it the female dog always preferred the men in the house. May be something to do with the sex of the person who was there at the beginning of their life????? Tough One! :) Interesting question.
